      • isExtendedLengthApduSupported

         boolean isExtendedLengthApduSupported()

        Extended length APDUs are reported only for APDU-level readers, where the reader itself promises to frame them.

        A TPDU-level reader passes blocks through untouched, so what matters is what the card accepts - and nothing we read from it says whether that includes extended length. T1Protocol chains blocks in both directions, so the limit is no longer the 254 bytes a single block holds, but short APDUs remain the only path we can prove.
